The OutBack MATE_B serves as a comprehensive system controller and display designed for both the OutBack FX2000 inverter/charger and the MX60 MPPT PV charge controller. This device not only provides a clear display of the system's operation but also allows for control and adjustment of setpoints. Acting as a coordinator, the OutBack Mate ensures optimal performance by preventing conflicts among multiple products in the system.

A single OutBack MATE can connect to various components, including multiple FX2000 inverter/chargers, MX60 MPPT PV charge controllers, and other OutBack power conversion and control products. This connectivity is facilitated through CAT5/ethernet cabling with 8-wire RJ45 modular connectors and the OutBack HUB communication manager, allowing up to ten OutBack products to be linked to a single MATE-B.

Featuring a 4-line backlit LCD display with 80 alphanumeric characters, the OutBack MATE provides a comprehensive view of multiple measurements simultaneously, minimizing the need for abbreviations and simplifying operation. Programmed setpoints are stored in permanent memory, eliminating the need for reprogramming after shutdowns or battery replacements.

The OutBack MATE also incorporates a real-time clock and calendar, enabling programming based on specific times of the day or days of the week. This functionality can be utilized for various purposes, such as adapting to time-of-day power rates or restricting a generator's run time to specific periods.

Additionally, the OutBack MATE includes an opto-isolated RS232 port with a DB9 jack for connection to the serial port of a PC computer. OutBack collaborates with third-party developers to offer Windows-based software programs for datalogging and graphical display of the system's operation and performance.
