The Deltec DC Ammeter shunts offer robust and reliable current measurement solutions for a wide range of electrical systems. With a maximum continuous current capacity of 400 amps, these shunts are designed to handle demanding applications without compromising accuracy or safety. For systems requiring even higher current capabilities, the shunts can sustain continuous currents of up to 300 amps while accommodating short-term overloads of up to 500 amps for a maximum duration of 5 minutes. This versatility makes them an ideal choice for various scenarios involving moderate to large-sized inverters.
Measuring current accurately is paramount, and these shunts excel in this regard. They are capable of detecting current readings as low as 0.1 amps, ensuring precision even in situations with minimal power flow. To ensure optimal heat dissipation and mechanical support, the shunts are equipped with terminal blocks made from high-quality brass. This design not only helps in managing heat generated during operation but also maintains the overall structural integrity of the shunt.
The utilization of manganin shunt metal for the resistance blades enhances the shunts' performance. Manganin is chosen for its low temperature coefficient, which contributes to accurate readings over a wide range of temperatures. Furthermore, the material's long-term stability and strength ensure that these shunts maintain their accuracy and reliability over extended periods of use. The manganin strips are securely soldered into slots within the brass terminal blocks using high-quality solder, establishing a durable and lasting connection that guarantees consistent performance.
Installation and usability are also taken into account during the design of these shunts. When mounting bases are provided, they are constructed using high-strength phenolic material. This choice of material not only adds to the shunts' overall durability but also includes strategically placed mounting holes that facilitate easy installation. This user-friendly approach ensures that integrating these shunts into existing systems is a seamless process.
Quality control is of utmost importance, and the Deltec DC Ammeter shunts are meticulously calibrated and designed at the factory. They offer a standard accuracy of ± 1/4%, making them a reliable choice for applications where precise current measurement is critical. Furthermore, the shunts are engineered to meet the stringent requirements set by MILS161B military specifications, attesting to their durability and performance in demanding environments.
The Deltec DC Ammeter shunts stand as a testament to quality craftsmanship and engineering. Their ability to accurately measure current, handle varying current loads, and maintain stability in challenging conditions makes them a preferred choice for systems requiring precise and dependable current monitoring. Whether used with Trimetric, Xantrex, Blue Sky, or other compatible applications, these shunts provide a high level of performance and durability.
